How Our Network Works

Who You Talk To

You talk to an independent local provider. That is a real remodeling business, not Substancepolicy Remodeling. They look at your project, answer questions, and give you an estimate. They do the work if you hire them.

Substancepolicy Remodeling makes the introduction. After that, the conversation is between you and the provider.

What Happens on the Call

Keep it simple. Here is the usual flow:

  • You describe the project. Bathroom or kitchen? Tub-to-shower conversion, walk-in tub, new cabinets?
  • The provider asks about your home. Age, basement, foundation, and layout all matter.
  • They explain next steps. Often that is a visit to measure and look around.
  • You get an estimate. Ask for it in writing.

Request a callback to check provider availability. Hours vary by provider, so ask about timing right away.

What to Ask a Provider

Bring these questions. Write down the answers so you can compare later.

  • What is included in the price, and what is not?
  • What could make the price go up?
  • Who does the work, the provider or a subcontractor?
  • How do you handle surprises in an older home?
  • What is the timeline, and how does winter weather change it?
  • What is the payment schedule?
  • Can I see your license and proof of insurance?

Costs for bathroom and kitchen remodels vary a lot by job. Typical U.S. projects run from a few thousand dollars to well into five figures. Your written quote is the only number that counts.

You Are in Control

You can talk to one provider or three. You can say no. You can take a week to think. A solid provider will not push you. If someone does, that tells you something.

Compare the estimates line by line. Do not just look at the total. A low number with a short scope is not a bargain.
